An opportunity to see the freshest work from North Devon Arts artists - a varied show of artforms and types of work. The exhibition is divided into TWO separate smaller exhibitions, to provide a more considered gallery show and to allow artists more space. The 'Meet the Artists' for the first exhibition is Sunday 22nd January 2012, at Broomhill Art Hotel at 2.30pm - all welcome! The 'Meet the Artists' for the second exhibition is Sunday 19th February at 2.30pm.

Many of the selected artists are NDA members. The 7 selected artists are: Nigel Banks - collage; Sandra Mitchell - contemporary handmade jewellery; Hayley Piper - acrylic and mixed media (work pictured); Gerrard Lindley - acrylic on discarded materials; Eric Blight - digitally painted and collaged photography; Nigel Eveleigh - ceramics; Simeon Chami - mixed media.

The Private View will be on Monday 23rd January from 5pm to 8pm at both the Queen's Theatre and at the Museum.  The presentation of the NDA/Museum bursaries to the selected artists will take place at 7pm in the Temporary Exhibitions Gallery at the Museum. All NDA members are welcome to attend.

NDA member Tim Pryor is showing 25 of his images in the main stairwell of North Devon Hospital so do look out for them if you visit.

Annual exhibitions held by NDA

New Year New Work

Call for entries will be in the November newsletter together with forms and full details about the exhibition.  Usually split into two or even three shows because of the volume of entries, members can submit up to three works in their chosen medium. There is an entry fee.

A reminder is issued with December’s newsletter and the closing date will be at the end of December.  Artists will be informed which show they are included in and given details by email or telephone about when to drop off their work and when to collect. It is their responsibility to do so at the times requested to avoid inconveniencing our hosts at Broomhill.  Each show will receive publicity in the local press and will commence with a 'Meet the artists' afternoon drinks party.  Sales are charged at 30% commission to Broomhill Art Hotel.

The Square Picture Show

Call for artists will be in the April newsletter together with forms and details about the show.  In previous years this has been held over three weeks to coincide with the North Devon Festival which has helped us to publicise the event. Artists may submit up to three works to a strict size and price brief which we will be discussing as a group before the event, currently the size limit is 35cm square and the maximum price £199. There will be a fee to enter and sales are at 30% commission to Broomhill as before.

At times throughout the year we will advertise calls to artists for other events such as the North Devon Open and the Westward Ho! and Bideford Art Society so it is always worth reading your newsletter carefully. We may also be arranging shows at other venues that approach us as the leading arts organisation in North Devon and full details will be available in our newsletters.
