Tim Saunders

Artist's Profile

Tim Saunders paints in oils, and is based in Barnstaple.  In 1995/6 he took
a foundation course at North Devon College.  Previous training included an
illustration course at Chelsea Art School. He has exhibited in more than
ten exhibitions including a solo exhibition in April 2007.

Artist's Statement

I find subjects for my paintings in the local landscape.  While I will
paint any scene that has a visual impact many of my paintings seem to
feature water (rivers and harbours) or livestock.  Influences on my work
include the pop artist Roy Lichenstein whose powerful work has stayed with
me since I first saw it at the age of 14.
