Artist's Profile

I was born and grew up in South Africa, within sight of the Atlantic Ocean.  I studied Architecture, qualifying and working in London until we moved to North Devon in 1992 to start our farming enterprise.  Here I have been trained in lambing, sheep milking and cheesemaking, and when the weather is clear I can still see the Atlantic Ocean.

Artist's Statement

I have always sewed and, having had our Organic wool spun and woven into cloth, I was inspired by the different woven patterns and the comforting feel of the fabric to experiment with a form of textured patchwork. 

Some of the designs start with an idea of land- or seascape and some are abstract patterns.

I like to think that the cushions that are created are both beautiful and useful.
