Although I have explored abstract and conceptual aspects of painting in the past and during my degree course, I have recently returned to figurative work. A principle interest of mine has always been to create work using the human form and often with a narrative emphasis. With some of my work I have been exploring the effects of using oils with water on paper. By utilizing the incompatibility of these materials I have aimed to produce undefined atmospheric images in both figure and landscape paintings. My most recent work, however, is a return to the more traditional medium of oil on canvas. |
