I was born in Northern Ireland and educated at Sussex
University, Smith College, USA and Cambridge University. I have carved with
Abbas Hashemi at Wysing Arts in Cambridgeshire and with Boutros Romhein in
Carrara, Italy.

My interests are mainly abstract, and I work in an
essentially modernist idiom. In particular, I find myself fascinated by the
relationship between forms and in the play of light as it defines form.
I have had a particular interest in the interplay between pairs of forms and,
lately, in the harmonies of complex angular structures that reflect an interest
in architectural structures and their meanings as objects.
I have also been interested in the representation of religious figures, and in
the history of religious art.
Materials used: Portand limestone, various kinds of
marble, including Carrara white, Baridiglio, Portoro and Travertine.
I offer workshops on basic carving skills and the
opportunity to try working in the abstract.
