Artist's Profile

I studied metalsmithing and jewellery making in California under Deb Jemmott, and discovered a passion for making chain based on ancient chain maille weaves.
All of my pieces are my own designs, and all pieces, including all of the chain maille are hand made. I carefully research and source all of the materials that I use, both for quality and respect for our environment.  Chain maille has been used for armour and adornment for centuries and I love working with these ancient patterns.
Precious metals are used in my designs based on various fabrication techniques.  My designs also include a wide variety of materials such as precious and semi-precious stones, pearls and other gems, beads and crystals.
My work has been sold here in Europe as well as in North America and Australia, and has been featured in the North Devon Brides magazine.

Artist's Statement

My jewellery pieces have been inspired by the Celtic Festivals, nature and the elements of Earth, Air, Fire and Water.  Also the folklore and fairylore of Britain and Europe.
I also create custom pieces for weddings and all occasions, sometimes working with heirloom pieces that a customer wants included in a new design.
I have taught regular classes and workshops in California, and I have a program of workshops planned for this year.
