My family history is entwined with textiles; weavers, sheep farmers & textile engineers I have fibres in my bloodstream. I graduated in 1988 with a Hons. Degree in fine art & embroidery.
My work represents my love of textiles, glamorous fashion imagery from Art Deco to the 1960's, burlesque & beyond. I am inspired by all things beautiful, recent work shows a fascination with exotic flowers & insects.
The embroideries are in silk appliqué embellished with machine stitching & hand beading, all begin as a drawing or a painting.
I also produce a small range of exquisite accessories & clothing I currently combine creating my own work with making heritage banners, furnishings & regalia.
Commissions are welcome; please contact me to discuss your requirements.
A selection of my work is on display at Griffin's Yard Craft Gallery, South Molton & 14 The Gallery, Torrington. |
