Artist's Profile

I graduated at the Surrey Institute of Art & Design University College in Farnham, (now UCA) with Fine Art BA Hons and then went on to The University of Reading in 2008,  to gain a PG Diploma, ‘The Body and Representation'. 

For the last four years my work has been grounded in printmaking at South Hill Park (SHP) in Bracknell however, I am now extending this into digital and mixed media, and attend the Digital Media Centre at SHP.

Since moving to Devon full time in 2009 I have been a resident artist at 360 Degrees Trust in Filleigh and have recently moved to my own studio in Barnstaple.

Artist's Statement

For some time my work was grounded in printmaking at South Hill Park (SHP) in Bracknell which I extended into digital and mixed media and have now returned to painting.

The subject of ‘belonging’ and ‘place’ has become very important to me. The places we inhabit often grow to be personalised by our own thoughts and memories – they are no longer the new inert space we first walk into but become fixed in our minds as somewhere which affirms part of ourselves - our own internal conscious world. The subject of place is evocative and often reveals a deluge of reflection.  The use of text is integral to many pieces, giving a sense of a lingering fragment or an echo.
