My work has been described as four dimensional because it is made in relief with the extra dimension of time. Unsatisfied with flat surfaces, I have always tried building paintings outwards. Initially I achieved this using papier mache, but now I work in a whole range of materials from polystyrene to fibreglass and cement. I would never want to become trapped in one particular style of making work because art to me is always about exploring and experimenting.
I am currently working on a show called 'Industrious Britain' which will be a visual exploration of a journey I have made around the UK. My aim is to express my interpretation of each place in the choice of material that I use. I am now also excited about the prospect of getting to grips with the landscapes of North Devon, and look forward to focusing on using some of my original drawing and painting skills.
