I have been involved in colour and black and white photography for over 20 years. My creative art photography originates with visualising compositions of distorted shapes in water or reflections on glass; by highlighting patterns emerging from obscure corners of large structures; peering into narrow spaces and watching the light seep through.
My portrait photography is driven by a passion for capturing the person in a way they both recognise and can feel proud of. My aim is to reflect the subject's positive core back to them. Photography as a tool in therapy is an area I am developing.
Having worked solely with film until a few years ago I now work exclusively with my digital SLR and Photoshop which I consider to be my darkroom. I am not interested in manipulating my photographs but process them in much the same way as I did in the darkroom. Occasionally I do make very obvious colour changes.
I am a photographer listed on the 2C Gallery site in Clifton, Bristol.
