Laura graduated from the University of Plymouth with a BA in Design:Photography in 1996. Since completing her degree she has exhibited in many galleries and venues across the West Country including The Plough Arts Centre, Saltram House, Exeter Phoenix, Exeter Picture House, Lantic Gallery, Landmark Theatre and the Thelma Hulbert Gallery. She has also had three solo exhibitions and often exhibits with North Devon Arts at Broomhill Art Hotel.
Her main interest is in the natural surroundings of North Devon, in particular the coastline and estuary near to where she lives in Barnstaple. Trees and leaves feature regularly in Laura's work; past subjects include close-ups of leaves submerged in rainwater or bare branches in winter fog. She often takes photographs of natural subjects and makes them appear semi-abstract or obscure without digitally manipulating them.
As well as taking photographs locally, Laura regularly photographs abroad, in particular Budapest, Hungary and Central France.
Laura prints all her photographs using a Canon PIXMA PRO-10 Professional Printer that produces images up to A3+ size. The printer uses ten individual pigment inks which ensure photographs have a long life span.
