Please note: if you are making a special journey to visit the show, it is advisable to ring ahead to check with Broomhil that the exhibition will be open on 01271 850262 (pre-booked events mean that the exhibition may occasionally be closed).

This year we have a greatly extended exhibition time as we have agreed with Broomhill that the show should last 3 months and cover the whole of June, July and August.

The theme this year is "The Elements" which can be interpreted as the artist wishes and in any media.  There are works on show from over 50 artists and makers, and the show features work by well-known artists as well as those showing for the first time.  Sculpture, ceramics, jewellery, textiles all feature in our 3D showcases, so it's not just pictures! All work is £199 or less, so it's a great way to buy affordable art.

Immersive Worlds, Contemporary Art Exhibition

In an atmosphere unlike any other, a multi-faceted tale is unfolding inside the walls of the medieval Spanish Barn - images, objects, sounds and movements call up hidden worlds and almost-forgotten things...
 
Much of the work is interactive, demanding the viewers' attention - without which, it will sink quietly back into the dark walls of the barn... Paranormal investigation, responsive kinetic installation, video installation, painting and sculpture all seek to immerse you.

The title of the exhibition 'Immersive worlds' hints at audience engagement and interactive play, and the curator (James Derwin) has brought together some of the most interesting and experimental art practitioners from across the Westcountry - contemporary artists whose works build on these ideas in very different ways.

Harbour House Open Art Exhibitions offer an opportunity for new and established artists to show their work in the large ground floor art gallery. Artists may enter up to four pieces of work, in response to a given theme. Entries are considered by an invited panel of artists.

Mike Bentley and Dave Green have had two photographs each selected for The Open Photography Exhibition at The Royal West of England Academy in Bristol. They have been selected from 1700 entries from across the South West. The Exhibition opens on the 20th February and runs until 5th April.

As part of the Appledore Book Festival which runs this year from Saturday 25th September to 3rd October Appledore Gallery is arranging to show of work on the theme of 'Storytelling'.  It will include books illustrated by NDA members as well as original illustrations.  There will be a private view / meet the artists on Friday 24th Sept 6-8pm at the Gallery.

This show takes up where The Square Picture Show left off, with a selected group of work transferring to Appledore Gallery in Bude Street, Appledore. The show is curated by Wendy Chiles of Appledore Gallery and all work is on the theme of the North Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. An eclectic mix of work by many NDA members - all giving different interpretations of the show's theme.  All work costs £150 or less, making it accessible and more easily affordable. The North Devon Arts exhibition at North Devon Hospital shows work in a variety of media on the theme of our wonderful Coastline in North Devon, and the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. 35 members of NDA will be showing their work.
In addition to adding interest to the hospital walls, all work is for sale. Artwork is priced at £150 or less, making it affordable art.

The North Devon Arts Square Picture Show is an annual event at Broomhill, held in the stables and on display from the afternoon of Saturday 5th June - Wednesday 30th June, Wednesday - Sunday 11-4pm.  Please note: the exhibition is closed on Wednesday  23rd June to Saturday 26th June (inclusive).

This year the Show has been given a theme - Our wonderful Coastline in North Devon, the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty as we are working with the AONB to bring their work to the attention of more people.

Janet Jopson , member of NDA ,will have her next exhibition on the 'Artist's Wall' at the Plough Arts Centre, Torrington, during April. This NDA exhibition will continue throughout the Appledore Visual Arts Festival and aims to show the high quality and variety of work by NDA's creative membership. Many works will interpret the Festival theme of 'Earth'.

The venue is a former shop space, located just off the junction with Bude Street. Work from around a dozen NDA artists will be on show, including 2D and 3D work.
