Studied Film, TV and Photography on a 3 year course at the London College of Printing (now the LCC) way back in the early 70's. After assisting in London for a while, I set up my own advertising photographic studio just off High Street Kensington. As the rents increased I gradually moved out to Maida Vale and then Ladbroke Grove, working with some of the largest advertising agencies and well known brands.
With the birth of our second child back in 1997 we decided to move to North Devon - a decision I have never regretted! With a large commercial studio in South Molton, I have now been working in photography for over 40 years and seen many changes. The most obvious one the move from film to digital.
Whilst my everyday commercial work has to be clean and pin sharp, the work I enjoy shooting for myself is somewhat different as can be seen from my gallery images. I am particularly passionate about Pointillism in Photography.
I have had some exhibition experience including two at The Plough in the early 2000's showing some of my Black and White landscape images of North Devon. All shot on film and hand printed by myself. Film and darkroom printing to this day is still a great love of mine. There is still that magic for me watching a wet image develop in the tray, rather than squirting out of an inkjet printer! However I do relish the total control over the image that digital brings to the medium.
