- Sue Giblett
I studied Fine Art at Petroc College and used many different mediums to create work including handmade paper, resin, plaster carving, printing, mostly using plant material such as leaves, and working outside in the Environment using natural materials to hand to create sculptures. More recently I have discovered that I enjoy working with Textiles. I dye my own fabrics wherever possible using rust and plants that I grow in my garden and on my allotment. I also use recycled fabrics from charity shops and some Sari Silk offcuts. I try to capture the "impression" or the "Essence" of a place that I have been to in my work, to stitch the picture that stays with me in my mind when I get home. I like to try and capture the "feel" or "atmosphere" of the place in which I have walked and embed it in my work.
