Maypole Dance

Maypole dance composed and adapted from a series of images of a local schools maypole dance. This image was sold at an NDA exhibition at Broomhill and the proceeds donated to the school. It was painted for the exhibition theme of 'Celebration'. The images of each child were combined to give this wonderful moment of childhood joy and energy. As well as the individual figures being bought to gather in this invented group, the trousers and skirts were rendered in white to unify the composition, although the original clothing was black.
