Last Wednesday 10th August, NDA held another of their popular ‘plein air’ meets in the beautiful ‘little white town’ of Bideford.
We have been remarkably lucky with the weather throughout all of our open air events and this may have been, arguably, one of the best days so far.
As has become our routine, we all met for coffee at the cafe at the Burton Art Gallery grabbing what shade we could from the burning August sun. We were joined by around twelve members and some new faces which is always nice.
After an hour or so of socialising and catching up the group split as some members went inside to view the 100th Annual Open Exhibition featuring artwork from WHOBID (The Westward Ho! and Bideford Art Society)

After a browse around the exhibition, some members left, some went into Bideford and some went on to do some drawing and painting around the quayside, making the most of the bright sunlight to pick out bright white buildings and glittering water.
Perhaps one day we will put together an exhibition of our Plein Air artworks.
Our next event is scheduled for September so we do hope you can join us then.
