I won a floral arrangement in a recent raffle but it was too big for the house and, lovely though it was in its way, really not my style. So I dismantled it into various smaller setups. In the end there were a few mis-shapen, damaged or otherwise leftover flowers which I simply 'dumped' into a pot. They fell into this beautiful shape, their defects and distorted shapes appealing much more to me than the perfect equivalents. One tulip promptly fell apart, as if an homage to the celebration of the imperfect and unwanted.
