Talk by Hilary and Phil of Art Makers
| Hilary and Phil will take us through the inspirations behind the Art Makers programme supporting and promoting artists and makers and tell us about the various funding streams they tapped into to start up their art business. |
| They will outline also how they have made an impact on the local art scene, engaging with councils and art organisations in the area. They will happily answer your queries about joining Art Makers and explain what to expect from being involved. We are hoping some of the Art Makers artists and makers will join us and chat about their own experiences. |
| Hilary and Phil set up Art Makers in 2021 in response to a survey of over 200 artists and makes in northern Devon, during Covid. The Art Makers website, home to the ‘New Atlantic Wave’, was funded via Innovate UK, including the creation of the first contemporary virtual gallery for rural artists in the UK. Art Makers has over 120 artist and maker members, and will be opening a new gallery in Bideford in 2023.
