What is the North Devon Cultural Strategy?
North Devon and Torridge council are working together to promote the arts and creative industries in the Northern Devon region. NDA members have already contributed to this which can be seen here:

What’s happening now?
Consultants Things Made Public are working with North Devon District Council to develop a spatial culture plan for Barnstaple which will feed into their Arts Council England Cultural Development Fund bid. This is an exciting opportunity and NDA members attended a workshop held in Barnstaple Museum to put forward ideas for the development of the town’s cultural offer.
As a result we have formed an ad hoc group – the NDA Cultural Strategy Project Group (CSPG) to act as a forum for developing ideas and working with partner organisations such as creative companies, Petroc, the Chamber of Commerce, local theatres, festival organisers and others.
We are keen to make contact with potential partners, look at funding opportunities and develop projects that will provide opportunities for North Devon artists.
If any members would like to be involved, please let us know by emailing culture@northdevonarts.co.uk
Will this project be affected by the AGM?
Hopefully you will be aware that the NDA Annual General Meeting takes place on Wednesday 7th September.
The Team who currently run and manage NDA will be stepping down and are currently looking for new members to volunteer to form a new Team.
If volunteers do not come forward then the group will have to formally close.
Those members who are already involved with the CSPG may continue attending meetings under a new organisation, or simply as individuals, but they will no longer be representing NDA as a group or have the ability to communicate and collaborate with NDA members.
Hopefully, volunteers will come forward and NDA will go into their 25th anniversary year with a new management Team working closely with the CSPG to benefit all NDA members and art as a whole in the region. There are exciting opportunities ahead so please attend the AGM and help put North Devon Arts on the map. Now is not the time to think about folding but looking to ways to strengthen our organisation but that all depends on our members. It is up to you!
